How do I get started? ("How to start my first scribe?" and other questions)

QUESTION: How do I get started with VideoScribe?

ANSWERS: (This tip was written for VideoScribe version 1.3.26, but may also apply to other versions.)

In order to make a scribe, you will need to download the Videoscribe software to your computer, install it and run it. (Scribes cannot be made on the VideoScribe Website.) You can download the software from the downloads page, perhaps preferably, from the VERSIONS page which may have the newest version along with the previous, more stable version: https://my.sparkol.com/versions

When you run the Videoscribe software, it will ask you to sign in and then you can make a scribe by clicking the blue "CREATE" button in the lower right corner:

in version 2.0, I believe the create button has been replaced by a white thumbnail with a plus symbol on it.

Next, you can click the pencil icon at the top of the screen to add images, or the Tt icon to add text, or the music notes icon to add a music soundtrack, or the microphone icon to add a prerecorded mp3 voiceover (or to record a voiceover if you have a working microphone).
