When previewing certain elements, all scribe content disappears

Hi there, this hasn't been a problem in previous videos but recently when I preview the whole content I've made, it will go alright for a while and then glitch out and the screen goes blank. Then exiting the preview shows that the scribe is still full, but nothing appears on the canvas. If I preview by clicking the play button for a specific item, then it does the same. This is stopping me from being able to use the software entirely and causing me to make very slow progress, as I have to exit the scribe every time this happens. I know its nothing to do with the hand drawing somewhere different from where the camera is set to shoot as Ive made videos before without this problem.

Save your scribe to the cloud and tell customer support the name of it so they can look at it.

One or more problems with your scribe are probably causing memory related problems: TIPS to avoid crashes, freezes, failure to render or erratic behavior (2015)

Hiya, sorry you are having problems with your scribe. If you can save it to your online cloud folder then let us know the name of it we will happily have a look and see if we can find a solution for you.

Cool, Its been uploaded. Im pretty much at a standstill with it, I cant really work on it anymore. its really playing up. Its called :'The Time Signature: Part 3 '. occasionally earlier elements will run but later ones wont.

Jonathan,

The answer to this will be point 5 in Mike's forum post that he has pointed you too.You have very extreme zoom levels on areas of your scribe and these are the areas that are glitchy.

If you look at the screenshots below you have a zoom level of 2% on the camera position of these elements and there is a warning symbol next to that. The error you get when you click that warning is also shown below.

To resolve this you will need to make the image and text boxes in your scribe smaller and then zoom in on them more. You can still have them the same size on camera but the image size to zoom ratio needs to be amended. Bigger images + more extreme zoom = unhappy VideoScribe.

I would also recommend upgrading to v2.3.5 (https://my.sparkol.com/versions) as we have built that to show the zoom level at all times instead of just when it is amended so you can keep closer eye the levels you are using.

Cheers

Jess

Hi there, I have made those corrections and it dosent seem to be the cause as it is still happening . Have a look at my updated version now. all the elements I have made should be 5% zoom or more and are not in the extreme zoom region. There is one section where it keeps stopping specifically. It appears to be happening about half way in the video. All elements beyond this point wont be drawn. The only place where there is extreme zoom is when you open it which is not stoppable. when the elements are on screen they are all now more than zoomed in enough. thanks for looking at it though! please do have another look..

cheers

I would expect 5% to still cause problems. All individual elements and even the final zoom out should probably be greater than 10% (preferably more like 15%-500%).

If it always stops at one particular element that element may also be a problem. Or possibly the cumulative effect of the excessive zooms just maxes out the available memory at that point in the scribe. Or other things mentioned in the link I provided could be contributing to the problem.

Jonathan, Mike is correct. In the tutorials we talk about a range of 10%-1000% but the bigger your scribe and the more elements at that level the progressive effect will cause issues with bigger scribes. You should be as close to 100% as possible for optimum performance.
