VideoScribe won't install – A DLL required to complete (PC)

If an error message is displayed during your VideoScribe installation advising that a DLL is required to complete the installation, here's what to do...

Cause

During installation, the installer will make checks to ensure that all the relevant files are available to use on the Operating System for the software to run. A DLL is a component in the registry which may be missing if you receive this message.

Resolution

  1. First of all you need to make sure your Windows operating system meets the minimum system requirements for VideoScribe - you need Windows 7 or higher. We recommend that you upgrade to at least Windows 8, as Microsoft ended support for Windows 7 on January 14th 2020.
  2. Next, make sure your Windows Operating System is fully up to date if you are having trouble installing software.

If you are having an issue installing VideoScribe due to a missing DLL, use Windows Troubleshooter, which is a Microsoft application that runs a check for errors on your computer and will try to fix them.
