Add mathematical formulae

This article will take you through how to use an online equation editor to create mathematical equations that will be drawn in VideoScribe.

There is a folder called ‘Education: Maths’ in the VideoScribe image library but for advanced mathematical equations, you may need an equation editor that will save it as an image. We use Codecogs Equation Editor but there are others available.

METHOD 1: Import equation as an image file

Step 1. Create an equation.

  • Choose ‘(20pt) Huge’ as the text size (A), ‘300’ as the output resolution (B) and ‘png’ as the image format (C).

METHOD 2: Use a third-party application.

  • A member of the VideoScribe user community has created an application specifically for creating mathematical formulae as SVG images that draw well in VideoScribe. The application supports LaTeX input and is available for Windows only.
  • A link to this application can be found in the forum thread entitled EquationSVGEditor on the VideoScribe community forum.
