Changing the drawing hand

Learn how to change the drawing hand or pen in VideoScribe

VideoScribe allows you to change the default drawing/animation hand for all projects and for individual elements within a project.

Changing the default hand for all project

  1. Click on the 'Settings' settings button in the left-hand panel
  2. Here you can select a default animation type to use for each animation stage, and if applicable you can also select a default hand or pen
  3. For each animation stage you can either select the same animation settings 'For all' element types, or separate ones for 'Images', 'Text' and 'Shapes'

Top tip: Select the animation type 'Hand draw' ICONS - Hand Draw (1) if you want to select a hand, 'Pen draw' ICONS - Pen Draw to use a pen, or just 'Draw' ICONS - Draw to have elements draw with no hand.

Changing the hand for an individual element

  1. Select the element on the canvas or on the timeline
  2. In the right-hand panel, select the ‘Animation’ tab
  3. Click the ‘Hand’ option, and select a new hand or pen
