Hi there. I have a created a white rectangle to use a an 'eraser' for text, but the SVG I created with Inkscape has a grey border. It almost looks like a shadow. Please could someone have a look and tell me what I am doing wrong? I am very new to using an illustrator which I appreciate may be the problem. Thank you!

Hi,
That bug sometimes occurs with rectangular filled shapes (with no strokes) that have perfect 90 degree angles.
To fix it:
1) you can use an ellipse instead of a rectangle to avoid that problem, or
2) you can use a rectangle with rounded corners or
3) you can adjust the anchor points at the corners of your rectangle to make it slightly less perfect.
4) rotating it slightly before saving the SVG might also work, but I am not sure.
