I would like to make an object appear as though it's spinning above my characters head. Any ideas on how this can be done? Thanks in advance for any and all help!

Your best bet is probably to learn how to make an animated gif, or hire someone to make it for you.
Some google searches will help you find tutorials for making animated gifs in photoshop or inkscape (free at inkscape.org)
