Videos over 10 min won't upload to YouTube

  • Hi

I'm making educational video in my free version of VideoScribe. After a video has been created it won't upload to YouTube. I receive this message - For some reason, we can't upload your video to YouTube. Check your internet connection and try again.

My internet connection is OK since I can upload other videos that are shorter that 5-7 min. I have tried 3 or 4 times and I have the same problem every time with videos that are longer than 7 minutes.

Do I have to upgrade to Pro version to be able to upload longer videos? Is there any way I can handle this problem?

    Thanks for an amazing program!

  • Hi,

If you have been able to make 5-7 minute videos then you probably are doing a lot of things very well.

Sometimes, longer videos are more likely, than short ones, to run into a variety of problems rendering or uploading.

A pro membership probably will not fix that, but it would give you the option of trying to save a video locally to your hard drive and then uploading it manually to youtube, if you think that is worth a try.

I'd recommend that you save your scribe to the cloud folder and ask customer support to have a look at it.

or save the project as a .scribe file and attach it here if you would like videoscribe users to look at it.

or you could make your scribe shorter or split it into two smaller scribes.

or check out these troubleshooting tips: TIPS to avoid crashes, freezes, failure to render or erratic behavior (2015)

  • Thanks a lot for taking time to help me.

Here is my scribe. I saved it as .scribe.

  • Hi,
It looks like the file was not attached successfully. please attach it again.

  • Hi

Unfortunately, I can't attach it here. I get this message

    Exceeds attachments size(Not Added)

    My file is 15 M.

  • I'm sorry to hear that. I'm not sure what their attachment limit is. You could still save a copy of your work to the cloud folder and tel customer support the name so they can look at it.
or you could upload it to a free service like dropbox and post a link here.

If you think the scribe is rendering but just not uploading to youtube successfully, you could try rendering it to a powerpoint file. Then at least you would have a rendered video.

If your default quality setting has been  changed to a value larger than 1000 you could try a lower setting like 600 or 800 (to reduce memory usage)

If you have a lot of fonts imported that are not used in this scribe, you could remove some of them from the videoscribe fonts menu (to reduce memory usage)

If you decide to split it into smaller scribes:
find a good place in the project to divide it in half, multi-select and copy the first (approximate) half of the elements and paste them into a new scribe and name it "part 1" and then do the same in another new scribe for the remaining elements as "part 2"  The relative placements and sizes of each element will all be retained but unfortunately I think you will have to manually re- enter the timing settings for each element.

    Good luck

  • Thanks a lot your help!  I tried rendering to a powerpoint file but it didn't work. Then I contacted customer support and helped with the video.
