Our library contains a wealth of images that allow you to customize the main colors. To identify if you can change the color of an image, look for the color change symbol on the image thumbnail in the library.

  • Select the Edit tab in the right-hand panel and choose your preferred colors from the available options under the Appearance section

  • Images that allow color change will display a different set of options based on the selected image:
    • Fill 1 - change the primary color
    • Fill 2 - change the secondary color
    • Skin - change the color of a character's skin tone
    • Hair - change the color of a character's hair color
    • Stroke - change the color of an image outline

Using custom colors

You can select and save your own custom colors. These will appear in all your projects so you can quickly use the same colors for both backgrounds and elements. 

  1. Select the ‘+’ symbol to add a custom color
  2. You can choose a color or paste a hex code
  3. Select ‘Add color’ to add to your custom color palette

Top tip: If you no longer want the custom color, you can right-click the color and select ‘Delete’ to remove it.

Top tips:

  • Noun project images only have a single-stroke color but this can be changed in a similar way
  • For images containing more than one person, the hair and skin tone will only be changeable for one of the people
  • The colors for naturally occurring object, like sky and grass, cannot be changed.
  • You also cannot change the hair and skin tone for images of real people, for example those in the History and Culture folder.
  • Want to go back to the original color? No problem, click the ‘Reset’ button to default back to the original settings.
