Learn how to install the VideoScribe App on a Mac computer
- Head to the download page
- Click on either ‘Download for MacOS (Apple Silicon)' or 'Download for MacOS (Intel)', depending upon which processor your Mac uses.
Top tip: You can check which processor you have by clicking the Apple icon
in the top left of your screen, and then selecting 'About':
- Intel Mac: You will see an item labelled “Processor”, followed by the name of the Intel processor.
- Apple Silicon Mac: You will see an item labelled “Chip”, followed by the name of the Apple silicon chip (e.g., Apple M1, M2, etc.).
- Go to your Downloads folder and double-click on the VideoScribe-x.x.x.dmg file (where "x.x.x" is the app's version number).
Note: If you get an error when double-clicking on the .dmg file, try Ctrl-clicking on it instead, and select ‘Open’ from the menu.
- Next, drag and drop the VideoScribe App icon onto the Applications folder.
Note: If you're upgrading VideoScribe from an earlier version, just replace the existing application with the latest version of the app in your Applications folder.
- The VideoScribe App is now installed.
- Click on 'VideoScribe App' in the Application folder and then select 'Open' to run VideoScribe (later, you'll be able to find it in your Applications folder in Finder).
Top tips:
- You can click and hold on the VideoScribe icon in the dock when you’ve opened the application, and select ‘Options’ / ‘Keep in dock’ to make it easier to find later.
