This article tells you what to do if library images in VideoScribe repeatedly will not preview or load.
PLEASE NOTE: Before you follow any of the instructions below, back-up all premium images that you have bought in VideoScribe by saving them into a project. This will ensure that you can access them again in the future.
Delete history in the 'Add image' window.
Step 1. Open VideoScribe
Step 2. Create a new scribe
Step 3. Click 'Add an image to the canvas' (A).
Step 4. Right click one of your recently used images
Step 5. Select 'Clear history' (B).
If this does not solve the issue or you are unable to load the ‘Add image’ screen, you will need to delete your recently used images from your computer.
Delete history – Windows PC
Step 1. Close VideoScribe if it's open.
Step 2. Go to C:\Users\[your username]\appdata\roaming\VideoScribeDesktop\Local Store\Documents
[your username] refers to your PC profile name.
- Go to start or in Windows 8/10 select the search icon
- Search for or open the Run application.
- Type in APPDATA and Press OK
- Open the 'Roaming' folder
When you restart VideoScribe, all of your recently used images will have gone but the image library should now load.
Delete history – Mac
Step 1. Close VideoScribe if it's open.
Step 2. Go to \Macintosh HD\Users\[your username]\Library\Application Support\VideoScribeDesktop\Local Store\Documents
[your username] refers to your Mac user name.
- Open Finder
- Select Go
- Hold down the ‘alt’ key and click library (when pressing ‘alt’ you will see the library directory appear)
- Select Application Support
- Select VideoScribeDesktop from the list
Step 3. Delete the folder ‘Favourites’ in ‘Documents’ and delete ‘vsfavourites.xml’.
When you restart VideoScribe, all of your recently used images will have gone but the image library should now load.
If you are still having issues
Delete the image library – Windows PC
Step 1. Close VideoScribe if it's open
Step 2. Go to C:\Users\[your username]\appdata\roaming\VideoScribeDesktop\Local Store
[your username] refers to your PC profile name
Step 3. Delete the folder ‘Library’ in Local Store.
If you cannot find the files by searching ‘VideoScribeDesktop’, click ‘Advanced’ followed by ‘Non indexed’ to find hidden files.
When you restart VideoScribe, ensure you have an active internet connection and it should download the latest libraries and load them successfully.
Delete the image library – Mac
Step 1. Close VideoScribe if it's open
Step 2. Navigate to \Macintosh HD\Users\[your username]\Library\Application Support\VideoScribeDesktop\Local Store
[your username] refers to your Mac profile name
Step 3. Delete the folder ‘Library’ in Local Store.
When you restart VideoScribe, ensure you have an active internet connection and it should download the latest libraries and load them successfully.
