Scenes allow you to break up your video into sections to better tell your story
Scenes can help you lay out your project to make a more complex video while keeping things organized. Your project will play your video based on the order of your scenes.
Using scenes vs. cameras
When you create a new project you will automatically start with Scene 1. Each scene includes a large canvas area. So you can either extend your project by adding new cameras to the current scene. Or you can add new scenes. Or you can use both.
Using scenes:
- Adding new scenes is a very easy way to extend your video
- Each scene is like a new section of your video
- You can use scene transitions to control how your video moves from scene to scene
Using cameras:
- Adding cameras to a scene allows you to move around more freely
- Cameras can be used to pan around the canvas area and zoom in and out
- Cameras are ideal when you want to create a classic whiteboard style collage video
Adding scenes
The buttons at the bottom of the 'Scenes' panel in the left-hand panel allow you to 'Add scene'
, 'Duplicate scene'
, and 'Delete scene'
. You can have up to 25 scenes in a project.
Top tip: You can select a scene in the 'Scenes' panel and drag it up or down to reorder it in your project.
Project limitations
In the right-hand panel, you will see your project details, including:
- Duration - the maximum length of your project is determined by your subscription plan
- Scenes - you can have up to 25 scenes in your project
- Image elements - you can have up to 150 image elements in your project
Scene background
When a scene is selected, you will see the 'Scene settings' in the right-hand panel. Set the 'Background color' for each scene using one of the default colors, or add a custom color using the color picker or entering the HEX code / RGB number.

Scene transition
You can transition from one scene to another by applying an entrance transition to the beginning of the incoming scene. Check out our Scene transitions article for full details.
