Is there a max stroke size for transparent draw lines?

When I create a transparent line to "draw/reveal" the graphic underneath, it seems that the stroke width I am setting is not working.
Although I am setting the width large enough, and in some cases extremely larger than needed, only part of the image is revealed in the first pass then the rest shows up later, after the draw line has ended.
Please advise.

I don't think that there is a maximum stroke size.
