Would it be possible to restore the recently deleted instant answers ?

  • The recent deletion of some Instant Answers has resulted in dead links in various community threads.

There were at least two threads today in which users mentioned encountering dead links while searching existing community threads for help. (For example, a link pointing to the version 1 tutorial  video: "How to make SVGs", and a link to the instant answer about the "zero days remaining" bug ).

If possible, please restore the actual threads and just remove the links from the instant answers page if you feel they are not relevant enough to remain listed there. Some of the deleted pages are still helpful to some users, and it sucks to click a link and just get an error message.

  • Hi Mike,

Thanks for your thoughts – I know both the Sparkol community and the Sparkol team value your input.

I hope this goes a little way to explaining what we're doing:

The version 1 tutorials that are not related to getting started (e.g. tutorial 1, 2 and 3) have been restored.

We were considering moving these tutorials to a different area for visibility which did mean they were not available for some time. We have recently been updating the tutorials and Instant Answers to ensure they are relevant – you may have noticed some changes for that reason.

In relation to the '0 days issue', this specific issue has now been resolved in version 2.0.1. If someone had this or a similar issue again,

the solution in that Instant Answer would not be relevant any longer and we would prefer that they contact us so we can look into it.

There may be a little pain along the way which we regret but we hope that overall it will be a tidier and more useful site for everyone.
