PNG image not scribing correctly

  • Hi, I'm in the free trial for VideoScribe and trying to determine if it will do what I need and I'm having trouble getting a PNG image to scribe correctly.  I've attached a video of what it is doing.

    What am I doing wrong?

    Thank you!

  • Hi,
if you use PNG or JPG images you pretty much have just the 6 "convert to drawing" options that you see when you import them. Or else you can just use "move-in" instead of "draw" to place them on the canvas.

If you want your images to draw really well, you need to use SVGs that are formatted in a way that works well with videoscribe.

a quick and dirty way to improve the way your image draws, is to
    1) import it into inkscape (free at inkscape.org) or illustrator
    2) use the pencil tool to draw a stroked path all over your image until the whole image is covered
    3) change the opacity of the stroked path to zero
    4) save the file as an SVG using the "embed" setting.
    5) test in in videoscribe and experiment with steps 1-4 until you have a good understanding of how it works.

more specific info is in the links below.
