Similar to what is capable within Adobe programs, I would like to see implemented the ability to hold shift when moving an object and it only moving in a straight line either left/right or up/down.

That would be convenient.
I believe the current options are: 1) select the element and press an arrow key on the keyboard to move perfectly horizontal or vertical 2) select the element and press shift+arrow keys to move the element further per keypress 3) hold down the arrow key for a few seconds to move the element continuously until you release the key
The current options are okay for small moves (Ellie) but can seem slow if you have to move it very far.

You're totally right, I just find those methods a bit slow for my workflow.
