Upload SVG from URL in Anywhere

  • I have had no luck uploading any sorts of SVG from any of the links provided by 'Mike' in the other subjects concerning this problem.

    What am I doing wrong??

  • Please provide ANY error message that you see.

Are you copying the complete URL EXACTLY?

try this png image on dropbox: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/100618/dropbox-get-link-screenshot.png?raw=1

If that works then store your images on dropbox and access them the same way.

  • I have read your previous answers to other users and have tried the above.

The 'error' I recieve is only that Videoscribe cannot locate any pictures at the destination. I have tried with your dropbox link and a link from my own webserver. Using the entire URL.

Seeing as dropbox has removed the public folder feature - for new users - you can nolonger direct link to dropbox fyi - unless you have pro.

  • Hopefully customer support or some other user can test the link above on an ipad with the current version of videoscribe anywhere, so we can compare results.

According to DROPBOX, existing public folders on DROPBOX are scheduled to become private on March 15, 2017, so the above link "should" still work (at the time of this post).

    1) Please also try this link with a different parameter at the end
    https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/100618/dropbox-get-link-screenshot.png?dl=1

    2) Using an image on your own webserver, you could also try adding the ?dl=1 parameter or ?raw=1 to your URL to see if that works.

    3) Otherwise, the next step might be to try a different file sharing site that allows direct linking and downloading.

    Good luck!

  • Thanks for the effort Mike but I still get the same result wether I use dl=1 or raw=1.

I still recieve the 'error message':

"No images found for https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/100618/dropbox-get-link-screenshot.png?dl=1 . Please try a different search term or ...

  • We are currently aware that this functionality is not working and are trying to find a fix. It's not currently possible to add an SVG image in VideoScribe Anywhere.

  • Update for ipad and dropbox users.
As of today (March 21, 2017), another user confirmed that the following dropbox link worked for her on her iPad: https://www.dropbox.com/s/po0r3qiviiableb/star.svg?dl=1

Explanation provided in my March 21, 2017 posts in the following thread: http://help.videoscribe.co/support/discussions/topics/1000068655
